The Fowey Estuary runs inland up as far as Lostwithiel, and branches off to Lerryn, Penpoll and Pont as its tributary creeks. With over 25 miles of pristine shoreline to discover, these sheltered water ways are perfect for us to explore. Often silent, private place’s where old boats go to die and veteran oak trees dangle their branches into the water. The deep water lower harbour is an important cruising port on the south coast of Cornwall and you'll often see cruise liners and luxury yachts visiting. The river is always teeming with marine wildlife. Its thought that Kenneth Grahame got the inspiration for The Wind in the Willows while messing about on the river Fowey.
Price includes the equipment, paddles and buoyancy aids. It is simple to book online. You just choose a date, add the number of participants and checkout. All young person’s under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. We advise a one adult to one young child as a ratio.
Kayaking River Safari - 2 Hr
Our most popular tour, on a typical trip you will paddle around the river spotting the birdlife and if you are lucky, seals or dolphins. On the high tide we head up river towards Golant. Whilst on the low tide, the landscape changes to become moonlike and we explore the lower harbour around Polruan. During the tour we will stop for a short break, please feel free to bring some snacks & refreshments.
